Gary Gough is one of the two founding partners of Ames & Gough. He continues to support Ames & Gough’s success and growth by assisting with sales, reinforcing key client relationships, and providing risk management and claims support. Gary is recognized as one of the foremost experts on design-firm legal issues and is in regular contact with our larger architect, engineer, and law-firm clients in support of their business needs. Gary is located in our Washington, D.C., office.
Prior to forming Ames & Gough in 1991, Gary served as a consulting attorney to Victor O. Schinnerer. Previously, he had been general counsel and executive vice president of HDR, Inc., a leading international design firm, and senior legal counsel to Omaha-based Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc., now Kiewit Corporation. Gary has also been a trial attorney in the U.S. Treasury’s Office of Chief Counsel-IRS.
Gary was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy and is a member of the North Carolina and U.S. Supreme Court bar. He is a 1974 graduate of Wake Forest Law School and has his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest.
