
Marty Ames is one of the two founding partners of Ames & Gough. He continues to support our client-service efforts by assisting with renewal issues, serving clients, and reinforcing key insurance-market relationships. Marty’s primary focus is working with our larger architect, engineer, and law-firm clients. Marty is located in our Washington, D.C., office.
Prior to forming Ames & Gough in 1991, Marty worked for Victor O. Schinnerer for 22 years, rising to the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. At Victor O. Schinnerer, he had overall responsibility for the operation and management of Schinnerer/CNA’s highly-acclaimed architects/engineers professional liability program. Marty is a widely respected industry expert who is often asked to comment on issues of import to design firm professional liability.
Marty was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and is a 1966 graduate of Norwich University in Vermont.
