In particular, she reviews coverage exclusions, restrictions and policy wording that might compromise a law firm’s insurance protection. She also describes measures law firms can take to strengthen their insurance coverage for various cyber-related incidents. Dan Knise reviews risks for A/E firms from onerous indemnification clauses

In a guest column for The Zweig Letter, Dan Knise, president and CEO, Ames & Gough, reviews contractual issues for design firms from onerous indemnification clauses. He provides examples of wording found in a growing number of contracts that can add significantly to an A/E firm’s potential exposures. Further, some contractually assumed risks may not be addressed by design firms’ professional liability insurance policies, leaving the firms vulnerable to potentially large claims. Dan Knise discusses cyber/internet risk, drones, emerging exposures for A/E firms

In a podcast interview with Randy Wilburn of The Zweig Letter, Dan Knise, president and CEO, Ames & Gough discussed cyber liability and business interruption risks for design firms, as well as financial fraud and theft, and related insurance. While acknowledging the enthusiasm among A/E firms for opportunities to integrate the use of drones in their work, he stressed the need to assess potential effects in their risk profile. In an interview with the ABA Journal, Eileen Garczynski, senior vice president and partner, Ames & Gough, offered perspectives on what law firms should look for in a cyber-liability insurance policy. Besides noting that coverage generally should be structure to provide a primary layer of financial protection, she emphasized that law firms should make sure their policies address hacking-related breaches of attorney-client privileged information.
